QHow much will I need to invest?

A The estimated cost of a Paper Affair is will be between $400,000 and $750,000 including 3 months working capital and will vary depending on the actual size of your store and the geographic location.  Such cost include the Build Out of your Store, Fixtures and Equipment, Merchandise Inventory, and your Franchise Fee.


Q What does the franchise system include?

A Owning and operating an assigned trade area for your Paper Affair Store, use of the brand name, trademarks, and operational systems and methods. Additionally, you will receive support in these specific areas:

  • Assist in the planning of design and build out of your store
  • Specifications for fixtures, equipment, and leasehold improvements
  • Utilization of demographics to profile each store’s customer base
  • Assistance in site selection and lease negotiation
  • Corporate training for Owner/Operator and Director of Operations/General Managers
  • Stock Room / Back of the House Workflow design
  • Ongoing support from members of the Training and Operations Team
  • Ongoing updates for increasing profitability
  • Annual visitation from Corporate Office
  • Utilization of Corporate Printing
  • Experienced buying team to edit assortments

Q Who designs and builds my store?

A Paper Affair Franchise, Inc. will provide the franchisee with architectural assistance, design criteria, and a merchandising floor plan. Franchisor recommends their architect and Franchisee chooses their contractor to build their store to the agreed upon specifications.


Q How much is the franchise fee for a Paper Affair?

A 30,000 for a franchisee’s first store. A second store fee is discounted 10%, and all other additional stores are discounted 20%.


Q How much are the on-going royalties?

A Royalties are a percentage of total net sales. For the first twelve months, the franchisee pays 4% of Net Sales. Thereafter, and at such time that net sales rise above ,200,000 during any calendar year, 5% will be charged on those incremental sales above ,200,000.


Q Does Paper Affair Franchise, Inc. require a Advertising and Development Fund?

A No. Each store is responsible for their advertising expenditure. Paper Affair does provide a Grand Opening Plan for each store.


Q How much money can I make from a Paper Affair?

A We provide a Earnings Claim as part of our Franchise Offering Circular.


Q How is the site selected from my store?

A Paper Affair utilizes national census data from Claritas, Inc. to assure that a location meets comparable demographics and prism analysis of existing Paper Affair Stores. In addition, we provide assistance in the site selection process including recommended negotiations with the developer and/or landlord.


Q Is there any experience necessary to own a Paper Affair?

A Yes, but not necessarily in retail. Paper Affair actively searches for candidates with experience in business and/or management. We also consider those individuals who have a passion for success and determination to achieve.


Q Do I need to be involved in the day-to-day operation of my franchise?

A At least one owner or a designated manager must be involved on a full-time basis and must be responsible for the day-to-day operations and management.


Q How will I know if I have the necessary finances?

A Paper Affair Franchising, Inc. senior manager will let you know how your financial status fits within our profile and what your financing options might be, if needed.


Q How long is the term of a Paper Affair Franchise?

A The franchise term is 10 years with two 5 year renewal options.
